Figure Olympia winner adds to her list of recent accomplishments
Nicole Wilkins-Lee, one of the fastest rising stars in the IFBB Pro League,
signed an exclusive contract with Weider Publications on Wednesday. The
signing caps a banner year for the 25-year-old Wilkins-Lee, who recently won
the Figure Olympia in Las Vegas in just her second year in the professional
ranks.
“I’m honored to be a part of such an amazing team,” Wilkins-Lee said. “I’m
really excited to help bring more knowledge about figure to a wider audience
and be a good representative for the sport.”
With her victory in Las Vegas on September 26, Wilkins-Lee became the
youngest competitor in history to win the Figure Olympia. She also grabbed
top honors at the Europa Show of Champions in April and at the New York Pro
Figure Championships on September 19. Off the stage, Wilkins-Lee was
featured on the cover of the 2009 FLEX Swimsuit Issue.
“This year has been amazing,” she said. “I just took each show and tried my
best. I felt very optimistic every time I went out and couldn’t have asked
for anything to go any better. It went exactly how I had hoped and I’m
really excited about what’s going to happen in the next few years.”
In the immediate future, Wilkins-Lee won’t be satisfied to rest on her
recent string of successes. She recently announced her intentions to compete
in the Figure International on March 6, 2010.
“I feel like I’m on a winning streak so I want to keep that streak going,”
she said. “I’m at the top of the sport and I want to stay there. I’m
extremely motivated and focused.”
